My name is Joe McGowan, and I'm running for Cranbrook City Council.

Cranbrook has been home to my family for many years. I worked for the City for 19 years as Director of Public Works and Director of Infrastructure Planning and Delivery. Over more than three decades in municipal service, I learned that good decisions start with good information, honest communication and respect for the people affected.

I've helped plan and deliver roads, water and wastewater systems, parks, buildings and major capital projects. I've also seen what happens when staff, residents, local businesses and community groups are brought into the process early: projects move forward, problems get solved and public dollars go further.

I'm running because residents deserve a council that listens, explains its decisions and is accountable to the community. My priorities are reliable infrastructure, responsible spending, practical support for local business and housing, and meaningful neighbourhood consultation before major land-use decisions.

I'm not looking for a title. I'm offering experience, judgment and a lifetime of public service.

I'd be honoured to earn your vote for Cranbrook City Council on October 17.

Experienced, Accountable & Approachable.

Cranbrook deserves decisions people can understand.

City council should listen before it decides, share the information residents need and explain how decisions are made. Joe McGowan is running to bring practical municipal experience, respectful leadership and clear accountability to the council table.
